It was great to be at the Real Estate Bar Camp in Philadelphia this past week held at The World Cafe (what a great venue !!) ! As usual, there were some great leaders in our industry sharing their knowledge and experiences primarily in the Social Media, technology and innovation space of real estate.
What was amazing to me was the low turn-out of our own Philadelphia agents. You would think that with the vast growth of Internet Marketing and Social Media that an opportunity like this would bring out a huge crowd. However, I counted 3 Realtors (including myself) from Philadelphia. That is a little bizarre to me. I could not stay for the whole event myself as I had a late afternoon settlement but I certainly caught as much as I could and am still soaking in much of the information that was shared.
The good news with that is that the Agents and Offices staying ahead of the curve will continue to widen the gap between themselves and their competition.
I am proud that our office RE/MAX Access was also a sponsor. Maybe next year we will have a better turn-out from our local folks to this great event !
In the meantime, how come more Agents are not taking advantage of these opportunities ? Is this a National trend or just in Philadelphia ?
