How I Lost More than 15 Pounds in 2 Months
So how did I lose more than 15 pounds and why is this relevant ?
Sometimes answers are in front of us, so close and so easy to reach but for whatever reason we choose not to see them, whether it be our own denial or lack of awareness. In my case, it was a little of both, but mostly denial. For the last couple of years, I have been struggling with horrible migraines and stomach issues. I went the traditional path of seeing doctors whicn in turn, numerous procedures and tests were performed and ultimately I was prescribed several types of medication. Since my symptoms did not improve, I sought natural remedies - a combination of yoga, gluten-free diet and accupuncture. And after continuing to struggle, I tried one last thing - I stopped drinking soda.
I confess; I have been a Pepsi addict for decades. Over the years my wife recommended to me countless times that I cut down on sugar but for whatever reason, I could not let it go. I would rationalize as often times I would "feel better" having a Pepsi (or two or three) during a headache or what not. But lo and behold, after finally surrendering and eliminating Pepsi out of my diet, not only did I quickly lose 15 pounds (or more), I have not taken one migraine pill since that day.
So how does this story relate to real estate or this blog ? It is a good question and perhaps it does not at all. But that would depend on each one of us. Sometimes the answers in life are simple where we try to make it complicated. For example:
- What is holding you back in your business today ?
- What is the one thing that you should either eliminate or add starting today ?
- What practices can you begin that could make you a better person ?
- What disciplines can you implement to make you a better Realtor ?
Big picture, is that a healthy lifestyle - body, mind and spirit will not only make you wildly successful, but also so much more content and happy.
Losing 15 pounds was never my goal but I heard the other day that "thin is in" so I will take it for now. I am happy (and proud) that I crushed through the thickness of my own denial, surrendered and am now experiencing the positive results.
I hope you experience the same in your life and in your business.
Chris
