Are You Driving Your Own Bus ?

Are You Driving Your Own Bus ?

One of the great things about social media is that you can go on Facebook or Twitter (feel free to connect with me) and ask your The Energy Busfriends what books they recommend.  That is what I did when one of my colleagues at RE/MAX Access recommended "The Energy Bus" by Jon Gordon.   I must say I am thankful for the recommendation as the book was extremely inspiring.  I read it in two days!  For any of you that has experienced a crossroads in your life or you are simply too stressed or anxious right now, this is a great book to read.  Just the simple concept "you cannot be stressed and blessed at the same time"  can be an epiphany

For me, it was Rule # 1 that got me going "You're the Driver of Your Bus".  And from there the other 9 rules fell into place.  Without going into too much detail, I would simply recommend picking up the book if you are interested in positive energy and going for a ride on your bus!

An interesting tidbit in Chapter 1 which is quite scary:  "More people die Monday morning at 9 am than any other time."

So forget the stress, forget the anxiety.  Ride your bus, be yourself,  be happy, take others on your bus, do not allow energy vampires on your bus, love your passengers, drive with purpose and enjoy the ride !

Too Big To Fail by Andrew Ross Sorkin

Too Big to FailI just finished reading the 500 page book Too Big to Fail by Andrew Ross Sorkin.  I found it both fascinating with the play-by-play and behind the scenes insight from all the major players.  And I found it a little disturbing in that as things were falling apart, a lot of the major CEOs were either in denial about the prospects of their company or had no idea how dire the situation was.

As an avid CNBC watcher and stock market enthusiast I can recall a lot of the moments played out in the book.  But to have this behind the scenes look is remarkable.  For anyone who is interested in having a bit more of an understanding of the financial meltdown and "how Wall Street and Washington fought to save the system - and themselves" as Andrew Ross Sorkin puts it - this is a must read !
