Who would have thought that Rabbi Gedaliah Lowenstein and his wife, Shevy Lowenstein, were party animals? And cool, too? Well, sorry guys, the cat is out of the bag now. What an awesome party they threw just before the celebration of lights, Hanukkah!
Tendenza, the new ballroom at the former site of Bart Blatstein's corporate office on N 2nd Street was the perfect venue for the party thrown in honor of three men - Gene Lefevre, William Vessal, and Jon Hollander, for their positive influence on the Jewish Community and the community at large.
I have to admit, every time I walked by the soaring glass windows at the new ballroom, I dreamed of being a guest at a sophisticated event under those sparkly chandeliers. My dream was realized when Chris and I attended the 1st Annual Gala Reception hosted by the The Jewish Center of Northern Liberties which now has their meeting place and synagogue at 851 N American Street.
But let's talk about the party! Appparently the NLJC First Annual Reception was the first event held at Tendenza. It was a huge success! The rabbi and his wife planned to perfection one of the best parties I have attended in years! The in-house catering at Tendenza was amazing from hors d'oeuvres to dessert. The servers were attentive and relentless with their constant flow of tasty nibbles. The guests were fun and exciting and I was touched when so many people explained to me how the NLJC has been a catalyst and inspiration in their lives. To me, that was the real reason for the celebration that night.
We want to thank everyone for the opportunity to be part of the evening's festivities and on a personal note, I was thrilled to open up our party gift to find two things that I have not had in my home for years. A dreidel and a menorah.
