Passing of a Friend - A Tribute to a Hero

A special man I came to know passed this week. He was an inspiration to me... a role-model and a mentor.
I got to know Zeev through a business relationship but there was so much I did not know about him. What I did know is that he was genuine - he was real. He had a zest for life, always a sparkle in his eye.
His intensity was fierce, his knowledge and wisdom was sharp. His business know-how was beyond extensive. His attitude and his perspective on life was beautiful. His advice to me on the times I asked for it meant the world to me.
His contributions to the community and Philadelphia were enormous. His love as a father to his family was pure.
His passions were every day. His life was too short.
Life is short, too short when it ends. Life is precious. We need to hold on to our moments, take the time to tell the people that we love them and appreciate what life has to offer every day, every hour... every moment.
I found out yesterday that my friend passed. I am in tears and sorrow right now. He was a man that I respected very much, a mentor... a hero.
If these words mean anything... if the sadness I feel for his loss of life and the sadness I feel for his family and his sons mean anything - then this is my tribute to a great man, a father figure to me of sorts and a hero. I pray that that his zest for life carries on and that sparkle in his eye remains in all of us.
If you read this, please say a prayer with me and a prayer for Zeev and his family.
