Observe the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 in Philadelphia

Ask anyone where they were 10 years ago on that September 11th and they will know. Every one of us has a story. It is seared in our memory. The lump in our throat, the feeling of fear, confusion, disbelief, and the realization of the human loss floods back like it was yesterday. Do you remember the days that followed? Those days and weeks of heroes, the fallen, the lost? Those days unveiled within each of us a hidden strength and patriotism like many of us had never experienced before. It was like this unimaginable disaster broke through the barriers of what had disconnected us all.  Before that day I never realized how much I as a person needed mending and how much I loved America. It was a tragedy and a miracle that followed that September 11th.

There is nothing we can do now other than to remember and hold on to the memory. America will remember.

As we observe the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 this coming weekend, please keep in mind that there are a variety of opportunities to volunteer service and mark the National Day of Service and Remembrance here in Philadelphia.
