We're simply jazzed to see what was a Northern Liberties institution back on the menu soon. Ortlieb's Jazzhaus, the neighborhood music venue and drinking establishment that was rated Top 10 Jazz Clubs in the Country by Playboy, is to be revived by Avram Hornik and Mark Fichera. The jazzhaus could be open as soon as the liquor license is transferred, according to the Insider. Hornik is behind several Center City and Old City bars.
Whether or not it will be just as we remember it, well, we'll just have to wait and see. A stroll by over the weekend revealed the liquor license application, but no other signs of renovation or readying to be seen. The requests are already pouring in for Bootsie to come back on Wednesdays...
