Performing Arts Center and Play Areas Set for Manayunk

We've got an interesting development for you  in Manayunk... With all of the hubbub about juveniles running amok in the city, Manayunk is getting rid of their 1960's-era Venice Island Rec Center rather than trying to fill it with kids and activities that will keep them off the streets.

But before I point a finger and get all hot under the collar, this article by Amy Z. Quinn for NewsWorks, explains that bigger and better plans are in store for this landmark site. According to the article, within two years we will be looking at "The Big Tank" -- a four million-gallon, underground stormwater basin for the Philadelphia Water Department; the creation of a first-of-its kind performing arts center, and restoration of the athletic courts and play areas."

It is projects like this that make us more and more excited to live and be business owners in Philadelphia. If you have been considering moving to Philadelphia or investing in Philadelphia, contact us for information and resources.
