Northern Liberties: Philadelphia's New Culture !

Northern Liberties:  Philadelphia's New Culture !

While a majority of Philadelphian's flock to the NJ Shore to welcome in the summer season as a Memorial Day tradition, Chris and I stayed home in our Northern Liberties neighborhood as we have done for the last 3 or 4 years now.  But this year things have changed !  Rather than seeing silent streets, abundant parking spaces, and quiet restaurants throughout our neighborhood, things were booming !

Thanks to the newly opened Schmidt's Piazza in Northern Liberties, Memorial Day and every day will never be the same.Bart Blatstein (my most admired developer and business person right now) has literally created a culture in Northern Liberties seemingly overnight... A new terrain for entrepreneurs, artists, consumers and everything in between.  Here are some of the sites we saw...

Tower Investments Apartments and commercial design                             Schmidt's Piazza Memorial Day Weekend

The Piazza provides views for the Apartments.                           Chris showing off his Hula Hoop skills.

African inspired live music at the Piazza in Northern Libertes                            Live Band below the Big Screen Stage at the Piazza

African inspired preformers wowed the crowd!             The stage below the big screen rocks with live music.

Darlings Diner: Friendly, Retro & Spectacular!         Vino: Classy, Casual, Italian Inspired and Incredible!

Northern Liberties is officially a DESTINATION !!  If you have not visited then make time to see all that is going on this summer. Come hungry and stay the entire day. There are plenty of things to do and see.

If you have any questions about the Northern Liberties neighborhood, we can help you !

I love living in a rural area because I'm anti-social ;)

When I see these blog posts, I remember how nice it is to have "things to do" that are right within walking distance.

Chris and Stephanie - Wow, I'd love to see some more photos of the apartments and the piazza.  It looks like a great community gathering place.  The apartments remind me of some my wife and I used to walk by in London everyday on the Thames.  They were all glass, steel, and concrete - absolutely gorgeous with great views of the Thames and London by night I imagine.
