Who was Keeping it Real in Northern Liberties Friday Night?

Who was keeping it real in Northern Liberties Friday night?

Jesse the ArtistPerhaps the better question is: Who was keeping it Photo-realistic?Jesse Beamsderfer and Arcadia Boutique were keeping real in the Northernliberhood on Friday night. Jesse is a talented technical artist whose photo-realistic fashion inspired ink drawings are featured in Arcadia Boutique through August.

We had a chance to talk to the artist face to face at his opening reception regarding the inspiration for his featured study called PAPERDOLLS. In speaking with him, it was evident that he has a real passion for drawing and I was amazed to learn that much of his work was done with a brush as well as more technical instruments.

Arcadia is to thank for not only being the host store for artists like Jesse but also for providing the difficult to find eco-conscious labels in fashion all under one roof. The Foodery is also to thank for taking good care of Jesse and giving him the night off Friday!

Great show guys!

Hi Christopher and Stephanie, What a nice way to say thanks and benefit the hosts and artist of the recent show. Thanking them in this way is extra special and will last for a very long time. Nice post.

William - Thank you for the compliment and thank you for stopping by.  Yes I agree blog posts like this are a great way to show appreciation of what is going on around you.  We live in a special neighborhood with great people !

Christopher and Stephanie:

Philadelphia is growing strong in the arts. It seems to be similar to lower Manhattan. That's great, it is a great part of what city life is all about.

Chris & Stephanie.... I love art and it's good to see it being shown and expressed in other parts of Philly now, and not just the main parts of Philly, such as the museum area and downtown.  And as William stated, this is a great way to thank the artist.  nice job.

Richard - Yes, it is quite awesome.  I think the artists really help make a community thrive.  I read an article awhile back (and blogged about it) that talked about if you want to invest in real estate, just follow where the artists are going !

Jeff - Yes, it is quite amazing all the great art spots in Philly besides the traditional.  There are so many great little galleries all over the city.  Philly is really become a special place as a result of the great people and the sense of community among the neighborhoods !
