Stephanie and I returned from Atlantic City today after soaking in all the great info from the Real Estate Bar Camp in Atlantic City. The venue was superb ! Whats better than having a view of the ocean, great food, great people and tons of information about how to grow your business with some of the brightest minds in the industry regarding real estate technology and innovation ?
If you have not been to a Real Estate Bar Camp as of yet, we would encourage to keep an eye out for one in your
area. The next one in Philadelphia is going to be in May. Of course, there is Raincamp in early January in New York City followed by the Inman Connect Real Estate conference. We will be there for both !!!!
In any event, thank you so much for the organizers of Real Estate Bar Camp Atlantic City especially Judy Moriarty ( @realestatechick ) for encouraging us to go. It was super to meet her. We also had the opportunity to listen to Bill Lublin ( @billlublin) speak about "Social Capital" and Rudy Bachraty ( @trulia ) about "Do you see what I see ? " .
There was a ton of information to share and to blog about. Below are a few of the thoughts and ideas that I came away with.
- Are you building your social capital ? How are you building it ?
- What is your social media strategy ? How are you utilizing each site such as Facebook and Twitter ?
- What is your social contract for each site ?
- Why not get a designation on Social Media or an E-Pro ? Especially if you are already doing it !
- Look into Constant Contacts and V-Flyers
- Be Active instead of Passive when it comes to Internet Marketing
- Remember that your the real estate market is hyper-local and not national.
- Perspective - Look at things in a wider lens to see the big picture.
- Do you have your elevator pitch ? What is it ? Can you say it on the spot when someone asks you what do you do ?
- Be a Part of Groups and Communities (thank you Active Rain !!)
- Share Share Share
- Give Give Give
- Ask for feedback more often, especially from your clients.
- Should your business be on Yelp ?
- I think I need to get the book "Crush It" by @garyvee
- How do I work up to be a mayor on Trulia Voices ?
- Say "Thank you" more often to your clients and customers.
- Positive Karma is worth more than any riches.
Lastly, I cannot wait till the next Bar Camp ! The opportunity to meet some great people is invaluable let alone learning some information that can help you grow your business 10 fold !!!!
Look forward to seeing all of you at the next one !
And for our clients and customers, we will continue to do our best to stay ahead of the curve in technology, innovation and services to offer you the best representation possible in our area !

Christopher and Stephanie:
I didn't get to go, it is a little hectic for me right now. But I hope to see you in NYC.
Richard
Christopher and Stephanie, Thanks for sharing these great tips. I need to work on some of these ideas
Ya know.... Some people are luckier than others. I'm not sure if they would ever have RainCamp Dallas but I'm sure pretty now that I've whined enough about it, that when it does happen, I'm sure I have an event I have at the same time that I cant miss too. Shuck!
Hey, Great to meet you guys. Let's connect again, maybe after the holidays. Glad you enjoyed #rebcac :)
Richard - Hope to see you in NYC as well !
Gita - You are welcome ! It is amazing how much information one can get in a short period of time.
Nice summary guys!
It was really great to finally have the chance to see you guys in person and appreciated your feedback on my session. I've captured a few more "meaningful" photos in AC for future use in my presentations :)
We'll be in touch. Keep on crushing it!
Rudy
