Random Thoughts for The Week (Social Media, REFI or BUY)

1.  Have you had a birthday on Facebook yet ?  If not, it is an amazing experience having a multitude of birthday wishes Random Thoughts for the Weekfrom your Facebook friends all throughout the day.  I even received a couple of personal videos.  I was a bit in awe... Sometimes in the past when I think of social media and "friends" I thought it was a bit cold and impersonal.  That thought has changed for there are so many great folks out there you can connect with through a multitude of sites whether it be Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo or right here in Active Rain !  The power of how far Social Media can reach is pretty darn amazing.  Are you taking advantage of it ?  If you have not connected with myself and Stephanie on Facebook (Chris Somers )  and ( Stephanie Somers ) , please click on the links and do so.

 2.  REFI or BUY - If you are in the position, I  would suggest do one or the other and do it soon.  I think when interest rates start to go higher they will go fast.  I just refinanced 3 of our investment properties getting a lower rate on each.  And if you are on the fence of buying, I know I keep mentioning it, but what are you waiting for ?  Interest rates have one way to go in 2010 and that is higher.

I use to think they were cold and impersonal also until I found AR.

Happy New Year.

Chris -  Hope you had a wonderful birthday!  I've had one Facebook birthday and I kind of felt like a poor man's celebrity.  It was pretty cool:)

As far as #2, I'm totally on board with your thoughts on refinancing/buying at this stage in the game.  I'll be curious to see the reaction when interest rates return to more historic norms (7% range).

Regarding point #1: I think you'd appreciate this blog entry I made this morning. Not so much about the birthday thing, but for you specifically to blog about social media made me laugh.

Happy New year! Thanks for your always thought -provoking blog.

I love social media, it is not just a great way to stay in touch with people you have lost touch with but family members also and clients too (it's got so confusing who my FB target audience is!!)

Happy Bday and I thought some of the posts were hilarious when I had mine ;)

Pretty good "randoming" for a Monday morning.  I love almost anything on Facebook and find it absolutely one of THE best ways to stay in touch with my "sphere".

Christopher and Stephanie....

I did have a birthday on FB and I couldn't BELIEVE IT.  I can hardly ever get on because my computer bumps that site every time but I have to get back to acknowledge them all.  I thought that was SO nice of SO many people!!

Facebook birthdays are a lot of fun. And it's impressive how quickly social media can rally around a cause. I think you're right on interest rates in 2010, Chris -- nowhere to go but up.

Christopher... yes, it is nice in regards to the birthday wishes... but I have to be honest about the holiday wishes on Facebook.. I have received tons from so many people I don't know, just clogging up my my profile wall when I actually put stuff of my own up there....  these X-mas and 2010 postcards too me, from tons that you don't even know, is just spamming in my opinion.  Hey, I know it's the thought... but is it really from strangers on a Social Media site that might just want to get their name out there?  I would rather here from people such as yourself...  PS... refinanced 3 and didn't call me?  ;o(   Seriously, Happy New Year to you and Stephanie...
