Do Something Different
Last night Stephanie and I had a lovely dinner in Doylestown at The Vine and Fig Tree Bistro, which is a beautiful little town outside of Philadelphia. On
the drive there, I realized I had never had dinner in Doylestown as we typically stay in Philadelphia outside of making it to New Hope once in awhile. I recalled saying that it was really nice to do something different. And what a pleasure it was !
I believe it is important to continue to do different things as life is short. Too often folks get stuck in a rut, of normalcy and patterns, not realizing all the things they are missing out on. So why not plan that special dinner out now or plan for that vacation ? Just do it, you will be happy you did.
This also applies to business. Think about what you could be doing differently that you are not doing now. Is it Social Media ? Blogging ? Targeting a specific niche such as single mothers or senior citizens ? Often times, it starts with your thoughts. If you find yourself thinking negatively or need to spur some creativity, try something different. Maybe read some interesting books ? What inspires you ? Take a drive through that countryside or town you have been thinking about. Do a yoga class that you have been talking about.
I will share a secret with you: You become what you think about. Your thoughts are the keys to success, thinking about what you can do different today to be more successful tomorrow. Or more spiritually fulfilled, happier, whatever your goal, it can be accomplished !!
What are you going to do different ?

Christopher and Stephanie, I agree with you in that we are what we think. It's good to pay attention to what we choose to entertain ourselves with and make corrections accordingly. This is how we create success both personally and professionally!
We DO get stuck in a rut, and need to venture out and try new things. THX for reminding us!
Barbara- So true ! Is also so important who we surround ourselves with as that will be a big influence on our thoughts and actions, and ultimately will determine success and so forth.
Joan - Venturing out and trying new things is not only fun, but can be inspiring as well ! You are welcome for the reminder. We need to remind ourselves that daily as well : )
I have been in the "midlife crisis" stage for a few months (years) now. Not that I stress overly, but I sometimes wake up wanting things different ... more time with the kids, more time spiritually, more time living other dreams. Your blog a few days ago actually inspiried me to schedule a date with the wifey - something that is rare as hen's teeth these days (so thanks!) :) You only live once, then what is next is what really matters.
Christopher and Stephanie, Thanks for the advice and the reminder. Wish you success.
Steve - Wow ! That is really great. I am glad that our blog was an inspiration for you ! That is awesome. It is amazing how these blogs can influence us in positive ways sometimes and one of the phenomenal attributes of being here in the Rain ! So when is the date with the wifey ? Balance has been a goal for us as well as both Stephanie and I work too much and need to plan more time in our lives for ourselves, our hobbies and so forth.
Gita - Thank you ! Same to you as well !
Good for you. Doylestown Diner still around or has it morphed into something else? Used to be a great place to go for a true diner breakfast.
I agree with you about the negative thinking.. Try to change your thinking process and go in a different direction. That is what always helps me. Sounds like a good time at the Vine.
Doylestown has some really nice places to eat ...love to go there ..I meet my friends there often for dinner ..nice post

We've all heard that variety is the spice of life. I agree that it is important to climb out of our ruts and do things differently so we can truly enjoy all the blessing of life.
Come on over to Lancaster, we have some decent restaurants here, and it is something very different.
I like that-"you become what you think about" I'm going to remember it.
