GPAR asks The Somers to Speak on Social Media and Blogging
I was recently asked to speak by the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors (GPAR) on the topics of blogging, websites and social media. To me, this is one heck of a compliment as there are A LOT of Realtors in Philadelphia that could have been asked to address the subject.
Not for nothing, but I get quite nervous speaking in front of crowds. However, since I have done it a lot more over the years, it has become a little bit easier each time. I definitely do not want to disappoint people, and I certainly do not want to be a dud. I better start preparing because come June 2nd I am going to have my "A game" on for those in attendance. Or wait a minute ? Maybe not... What about sharing information to the competition ? No worries. Philadelphia is a large marketplace. And besides, one thing I learned a long time ago. The more you give in life, the more you receive in return.

Sure you will do fine, just speak from your heart, your blogs are always entertaining and I am sure you will be great to hear in person. Something I read recently was just remember that even when speaking in front of a crowd you are still talking as if to one person. Good luck.
Kathryn - Thanks ! It will be something to look forward to ! I know "social media" is a bit of a hot topic as the ROI is not very measurable and can be a huge time suck for a lot of people.
Nick and Trudy - Thanks for the tip and the reminder. We do try to have a little fun with our blogs and our social media strategy. And will do the same with the speaking engagement. I find that the best parts of these sessions are the questions and answers part where folks can get the info that they are looking for. Hopefully I can provide those answers !
