Today we read a great post by JoAnn Greco at PlanPhilly about something exciting going on near Bodine High School at George and Orianna St in Northern Liberties. This school is right next to the Orianna Street New Construction Project and it's about to be the location of a little more eye candy...One of the biggest mural projects is officially under way at Bodine, reports PlanPhilly.
It took a lot of work, permits, and red tape to get this project going. We especially love that everything is re-used and nothing that is taken from the site ever leaves the site. The murals should be completed by mid-September and we hope to have some photos of it by then!
We have other smaller projects at work getting less press but still worth mentioning. Visit Hancock Beautification Project to see the latest efforts on the 800 block of Hancock Street, a block that took matters into their own hands and are doing their own murals. No city red tape or permits required!
Northern Liberties is certainly becoming the neighborhood of murals - we spot new ones every week! What do you think of murals?

I love murals, they often add so much to a neighborhood, we have one in Berwyn that shows all the leaders within the community. Did have a photo of it, but cannot find it right now.
wow!! that is great, when you visit Canada next, I believe in Toronto, they have some of the best wall mural around. They embrace that style of art tremulously :)
I'd love to see Isaiah Zager's mosaic murals in Northern Liberties...they really brighten up South Philly.
