A trip to downtwon Richmond, VA
Over Labor Day weekend, Stephanie and I drove down to Richmond, VA to visit family. My sister and her family live in Midlothian so we had a chance to visit with her and my parents too. My parents were to fly from Michigan but instead drove down from their second home since they missed their flight. We all can learn from their devotion as they had the strong desire to be with family during this weekend as that is a long drive !
In any event, we had such a terrific time. On this day, my sister Kara (far left), my nephew Ty (middle) and my beautiful wife Stephanie (far right) went to downtown Richmond for a little outing. We were suppose to go on a boat ride on the canal, but the boat in the picture engine stalled so we all had to get out. We made the best of it and did our own canal walk per se (2nd photo). The walk was beautiful. The 2nd photo shows some of the walk with a new construction condo building right next to the canal.
On the last photo, it is a La Diff - a very stylish and cool furniture store that has been in Richmond for decades. Ty checked out the massage chairs and mattresses while Stephanie and I found a cool lamp for our Philly condo. All in all, with so much happening in Richmond, this looks like a great place to be a homeowner or perhaps an investor as the city continues to grow and the universities continue to thrive.
More importantly, this weekend was a reminder of the importance of family and being together !
