Real Estate Connect 2009 in New York City

Stephanie and I will be at the Real Estate Connect 2009 in NYC today through Friday so if you do not see a new blog for a few days, that is why !  Will look to gain some insightful info and ideas from the conference and blog about it over the weekend !!!!  Stay tuned !  Am reposting an earlier blog below when we signed up.  Hope to meet some Rainers there !!!

Real Estate Connect 2009 NYCStephanie and I will be at the Real Estate Connect 2009 in New York City which is January 7 - 9 .

We have never been to an event like this in the past, so we are a little nervous about whether taking the time away from our daily business will be worth it in addition to the costs of the conference, hotel room, having fun...etc : ) ??

Does anyone have any feedback or opinions regarding these types of conventions ?

A few years ago we went to the RE/MAX International convention in Las Vegas which was awesome staying at the MGM Grand, but basically we ended up doing our own thing !!!  We also did the same thing at Triple Play in Atlantic City over the years : )

With the growth of our business in the last 2 years and trying to stay on the cutting edge of the field as well as internet marketing, it seemed like a wise decision to make to take the plunge !  There are going to be some exceptional keynote and featured speakers there so we will definitely take notes !!  Further, we signed up for the Bloggers Connect workshop as well as the Internet Marketing workshop .

In any event, please let us know if you are interested in meeting up if you plan on going as well.  Also, any feedback would be appreciated in general of your opinion of these types of gatherings.

Not for nothing, if it was not for Active Rain, I would have no idea what Real Estate Connect was let alone have a blog !!  Thanks Active Rain !! Is really cool since I would have never even conceived of having a blog a year and a half ago !

So in any event, even if we wonder off in New York City, I guess after the event we will have plenty more to blog about !

Also, thank you Susan Milner of Florida Future Realty for providing a promotional code for the registration !

Stephanie and Chris,

I found that every convention I attended was what I made of it - but choose which events you attend carefully and split up to sit through twice the amount of lectures (if you are comfortable doing that).

Chris - I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time and learn a heck of a lot.  I've only been to a couple smaller functions but really enjoyed them.  I look forward to hearing about your experiences and take from the event.

Christopher and Stephanie - Enjoy your time there.  I know there's a lot of great bloggers attending.  If you meet anyone from the AgentGenius crew, say hello for me.  I wanted to go this time, but it just wasn't in the budget...yet.  I'll be at one soon.

my comment is that you need to go to the RE/MAX Convention in LV too!  That is only because I am selfish and want to meet you in person!

I'm on Twitter and went to www.TweetChat.com and entered the group #REBCNY as listed in another post.... where I got to see what everyone was saying, live from the event (in 140 characters or less, of course)!

Chris and Stephanie, the Inman confrence will definitely be worth your time and you'll learn a lot.  Sometimes you learn more just by talking and networking and bouncing ideas around with the attendees than you do from the sessions themselves.  Overall, it's a great experience.  I went to both Inman conferences last year.  Sorry I can't be there now, but I'll likely go to San Francisco this summer.

Thanks everyone for the input.  Am pretty excited about the conference starting today.   Should be a lot of fun.  Am quite in awe being back in NYC - it has been a little while.  Stephanie and I had a terrific dinner at this great little Italian Restaurant last night not far from Times Square - http://puttanescanyc.com/media/puttanesca.html .

Chris, I look forward to your "report" on the NYC connect. You guys be careful and have fun.  Keep twittering from there when you have a free NY minute, so I know you're alive (bad choice of words there lol).

Hugs!

I think these types of conventions can be a good thing, as long as they're reasonably priced and well planned out. One of the biggest keys to it being successfully is the inviduals going to the event with their own agenda in mind to soak every little piece of info possible.

Cannot comment on each of the comments right now, but one thing is for sure.  Would highly recommend this Inman Conference for those who are thinking about the next one.  Was highly informative and a lot of fun.  I took a lot of notes : )  And a few photos.

Bill - We did learn a lot.  Was quite impressed.  I think you know all the tricks already though... you could have been a speaker there for sure : )

Kristin and Cristal - We will talk about going to the RE/MAX convention !  It still is a "maybe" : )

Elayna - It was awesome up there !  We did make it back, safe and sound... brain is a little fried though.  A lot of info to soak in !

Steve - Have some great blog material - will try to knock a few out over the next couple of days.
